I learned from my enemy that the Ang Dating Daan is the only organization following the teachings of God these days

I am Sarah Mae M. Aroy of Locale of Tagum City in Mindanao. With God’s grace, I’ve been in the Church for two years now and member of the Teatro Kristiano

I am a former Catholic follower. I was raised by my parents having fear in God although we did not have an idea that what we believed in was not the true faith taught in the Bible.

I actually had no idea about the true Church and the true teachings of God before. I thought every church or religious group in the world was right and salvation can easily be attained by anybody through good deeds regardless of what church they belonged to.

There was an incident in our family that led my mother and two brothers to have known the CHURCH OF GOD INTERNATIONAL and soon became members of it.

One of my brothers, Bro. Ulysses Aroy, who was my bitter enemy and considered before as the “black sheep” of the family was the one used by God for me to be able to have and idea about the true Church and doctrines of the Lord.

Being a member of the CHURCH OF GOD INTERNATIONAL or “ANG DATING DAAN” as known to the public, my brother shared to me some of things he had learned regarding faith. He told me about Bro. Eli Soriano and some biblical prophesies proving that the organization of “ANG DATING DAAN” is the only organization following the right teachings of God these days.

My brother invited me to attend the indoctrination that was to be held here in the locale of Tagum City. Without my hesitation, I accepted his invitation and started listening to the doctrines of the Lord Jesus Christ through Bro. Eli Soriano.

As the indoctrination went on, there were so many things I learned, especially regarding faith and serving the true God. My mind was opened up; my heart was enlightened and so I decided to be baptized and be a member of the Church.

I  still couldn’t  believe that I would listen and believe in what my brother,  Ullei, was sharing to me, knowing the fact that I really hated him so much because we were bitter enemies as I said. But as time passed by, with the teachings of God being taught to us every now and then, I realized and learned to believe that it was the power of the words of God that brought me here and made me stay in the Church up to this present time of my life.

I am very much thankful to God Almighty who called me and my family by his grace and great love. I’m very much thankful to God for sending Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel in this present times to open the minds of many people who have been blinded by many false prophets and pastors around the world. I thank God for everything in my life forever.

    Sara,

I will encourage you to search the Scriptures thoroughly. Be lilke the Bereans searching the scriptures day and night to see what St. Pauls teaching were tru. Soriano’s teachings are very hard to decifer because he contradicts himself from one episode to another.

It is difficult to document every doctrine that Soriano holds because they usually do not put everything into writing. Doctrinal teachings of Soriano may vary from worker to worker. According to one Filipino pastor and author, Soriano is in the process of constructing his doctrine. His beliefs are yet to be develop in the future. Christian pastors and leaders who are concerned about the spiritual welfare of the Filipinos must also be vigilant about him so that they could address the spiritual hunger of a growing population because if not false teachers like Soriano will and as a result they will again be one of those “unpaid bills of the church” as one Christian author states.

He does not use proper bible interpretation methods e.g. Exegesis and Hermeneutics. He just reads one verse/passage and interprets it himself. Religion is not the answer. Christianity was never intended to be a religion but an active relationship with Jesus Christ.

You said ” I thought every church or religious group in the world was right and salvation can easily be attained by anybody through good deeds regardless of what church they belonged to.”

You are correct. Anybody cannot boast of their good deeds even if the good deeds come directly from the bible itself e.g. loving your parents, fellowshipping etc. Likewise, you cant boast of you good deeds even if you claim to be in the right religion. The effect is the same. You still wont go to heaven because you sin every day too.

It is only by “grace” you have been saved through faith, not of works (good deeds) lest any man shall boast (Eph 2:8-9) In other words, you can’t save yourself by your own.

  2. “Ang tunay na relihiyon kahit ang kaaway mo gagawan mo ng mabuti.” (Lucas 6:27)

Things Learned From: Bro.Eli Soriano and absolutely from the bible it is.
THANKS BE TO GOD FOR HIS UNSPEAKABLE GIFT!🙂

  3. To Glenn,

    As you have stated above,
“Religion is not the answer. Christianity was never intended to be a religion but an active relationship with Jesus Christ.”

You contradict your statement. Religion is the relationship with Jesus Christ. From the word Religion derivation from ligare “bind, connect”, from a prefixed re-ligare, i.e. re (again) + ligare or “to reconnect. Religion has a big part of being or how to be a Christian. Wherein, it imparts us the doctrines of Christ. Religion is a great factor for salvation.

Yes! doing good deeds must not be boasted. We must be thankful for it, for having the opportunity of doing so. But it doesn’t already denotes that committing a sin in spite of doing upright endeavor will not make it up to you to attain salvation. God knows how to consider. He cleanses our sins. It doesn’t disregard our virtuous effort. So we must not be discourage that in spite of those committed mistakes we will not continue doing God’s will.

Faith comes from hearing. So I personally believe that it is not vital to put everything into writing that Brother Eli Soriano preaches. More of, let it be written in the hearts.
And another thing, that according to one Filipino pastor and author, Soriano is in the process of constructing his doctrine. How would you indicate so if his way of teaching are purely Bible-based? NOT OF HIS DOCTRINES BUT OF GOD.

Moreover, I wholeheartedly believe that we will not be one of those “unpaid bills of the church”.
Because even though Brother Eli is not physically present in our different locales, We NEVER feel the scarcity of the wisdom he always provides us every Church gatherings. We understood his physical absence here in the Philippines for he strives to preach the Word of God worldwide.

If you encourage Sara to search the Scriptures thoroughly, How I hope you too.
Kindly spend more time to listen and analyze Brother Eli’s preaching. God Bless!

  4. Glenn,

Religion is mentioned in the bible. If it wasn’t important, it wouldn’t be. Bro eli preaches only what is written in the bible, nothing more, nothing less. If you find any contradictions to his preaching, it’s probably because you do not really understand it or you have already made up your mind that whatever comes out the mouth of a preacher, whom you do not follow or trust, is already wrong.

“According to one Filipino pastor and author, Soriano is in the process of constructing his doctrine.”
    — Why not name this particular pastor? Probably because he is one of the many pastors who can’t win a debate against brother eli or because he is too afraid to even participate.

There is no real need to put the doctrine in writing because aside from the fact that there are videos made to provide consistency, the doctrine taught by brother eli is biblical. You want written proof? It’s all in the bible. Read it thoroughly, not just the verses that seem favorable to you.

You may seem smart enough to know about certain proper methods of bible interpretations, but if you are not guided by God Himself, you would not be able to understand the words of God, no matter how effective you are at following the methods you mentioned.

Besides, if brother eli is not really capable of understanding the word of God in the bible, then why is it that, of all the doctrines created by pastors, priests, and leaders, the doctrine taught in the congregation he teaches is the only one that really changes people’s lives for the better?

The only way to measure a teacher’s efficiency as a teacher is how their students turn out to be after being taught. People keep saying negative things about brother eli, but have they really looked at the results of his preaching? Addicts, drunkards, and gamblers are turning away from their vices and serving God through good works and righteous lifestyles. Members are more patient, loving, caring, and down to earth even when enemies insult or hurt them. I mean, just basing on what the female members wear, it is evident that every word in the bible is being followed and applied to their daily lives, even when no one is watching.

“Christian pastors and leaders who are concerned about the spiritual welfare of the Filipinos must also be vigilant about him so that they could address the spiritual hunger of a growing population…”
    — this actually made me laugh. Where are these concerned pastors and leaders??? Their only real concern is losing members to brother eli soriano. Why? because their collection would decrease. It is only brother eli who is addressing the growing spiritual hunger of, not only the Filipinos, but of those overseas as well, even if it meant spending all his personal money and gaining more enemies in the process.

“You still wont go to heaven because you sin every day too.”
–What is the biblical basis for this? A person sins, yes, but if taught with the right doctrines based on the bible (like what brother eli is teaching with God’s help and mercy) unnecessary sinning can be avoided. Don’t you think that God is wise enough to know if a sin is forgivable or not? or if it is intentional or not?

Instead of reading about what some pastor or author said about brother eli and his preaching, focus on the bible.

“Is what he saying really written in the bible? Is what he saying making sense? are the things he is teaching good for me?” If brother eli soriano is a false teacher, why are his students becoming better people? why are his listeners becoming more prayerful and thankful to God? Why are more and more people listening to his biblical preaching?

those are just some of the things you need to think about, with God’s help and mercy.

    May God bless you, brother.

  5. Sarah says:

Exegesis and Biblical Hermeneutics. I agree with you Glenn.🙂

  6. Glenn,

I searched what is Exegesis and Biblical Hermeneutics and it turns out that they are interchangeable. Also, Exegesis is the critical explanation of a text, particularly a religious text.

    From Wikipedia
“Exegesis includes a wide range of critical disciplines: textual criticism is the investigation into the history and origins of the text, but exegesis may include the study of the historical and cultural backgrounds for the author, the text, and the original audience. Other analysis includes classification of the type of literary genres present in the text, and an analysis of grammatical and syntactical features in the text itself.”
    – if you can watch Bro. Eli Soriano speak, he also considers history and culture of the author and original audience for whom the teachings are being spoken to. Just try to listen like me. I am just watching anime movies then as I turn channels to get past the commercials, I saw him teaching and I was fascinated by his answers. Try it and ‘listen to understand’ and not just ‘listen to contradict’.

As to the importance of religion, I believe that it is equally important to be in a religion because it is the relationship of God to us people. It is our guiding principles and ways. Religion in the Bible is the founding religion and the religion of the TV Program “Ang Dating Daan” is a part of the body of the Church stated in the Bible wherein Christ is the Head.

As to Bro. Eli not writing stuff, he is not forced to do so because God’s messengers are varied. Some are writers, teachers, miracle-doers, prophet, and many more. I believe that he falls under teacher because he teaches what has been written or approved by God to be taught.

Currently, I’m Catholic but in God’s will I’ll be joining the group of Bro. Eli. He is the only teacher who can answer my deep questions of my heart that priests do not. Priests usually tends to say things without basis. I was a student of a Catholic School and became a sacristan before so I here a lot of Priests speaking. Bro. Eli fills my heart and wisdom as when I read my favorite books like Proverbs and Ecclesiastes (Wisdom Books).

Thank you for reading this and hope you listen to understand Bro. Eli someday.
